The Sniper is really just a small upgrade to existing Mig-29s, the SMT being almost an entirely new aircraft. SMT's cockpit is equipped with two large LCDs and HOTAS. A modified, more powerful RD-33 is used, new radar (not sure what the capabilities of this are), and two extra hardpoints under the modified wings.

Both MiG-29s are near identical (german one is a 9.12A so it's little lighter and has a little less fuel compared to the soviet 9.13 but the difference is negligable), but the USSR air tree is a FAR better investment if you care about top tier jets.
